Course Reflections- EDLD 5363

1. I envisioned engaging in activities that would allow me to become more familiar with digital storytelling or creating digital stories using different media programs such as Roxio. Since I've done this many times with a couple of programs, I was hoping to simply become better acquainted with them. I did NOT fully achieve those outcomes because I was unable to join a group. I am unsure of whether the actual course outcomes truly aligned with those I envisioned, but based upon what I saw SHOULD have occured, I'm certain they probably were supposed to.

2. Yes the outcomes are relevant to what I do in my school. I am expected to assist students in achieving a certain level of technology literacy by exposing them to various applications. In addition, I am expected to provide project opportunities to GT students under my care, and train them to use technology applications to present their projects.

3. I was NOT able to complete a group digital story because due to some personal issues I was too late to join a group; but when I created my own personal digital storyboard I was able to achieve SOME of the outcomes. I was NOT exposed to Audacity to experiment with, but was able to read about it and and look at it.

4. I was able to complete a couple of week's course assignments, but the final couple of weeks I was not able to complete those. The final couple of weeks required documentation of group's progress and monitoring what part of the digital project was completed and by whom. Since I was not able to join a group, I was unable to complete those assignments.

5. I learned how to do voiceovers on Roxio and other digital projects. It served to enhance my technology skills and my attitude about technology hasn't changed. I still believe it is a vital & powerful tool for both students and teachers alike.
